Has blurry vision stopped you from having a 20/20 perfect vision? With the natural eye, a blurry vision is a condition called ASTIGMATISM. Astigmatism occurs when the cornea is irregularly shaped. When

this happens it prevents the light from focusing properly on the retina, causing blurry vision. The specific cause of astigmatism is unknown. It can be hereditary and is usually present from birth.

Do we suffer from spiritual astigmatism? Is our spiritual vision 20/20 or is it blurry when we view ourselves? Do we see ourselves the way God sees us? If not, we must change our perspective. How can we understand how great God is when we don’t see greatness in his creation?

How many times have we let someone’s negative opinions of us become our reality? Or are we seeing ourselves through someone’s eyes that do not see beauty in themselves? If we view ourselves through the eyes of rejection, abandonment, betrayal, hurt or unworthiness, we will continue to labor under the burden of a diminished vision. If we allow this perception of ourselves to continue we will keep this story forever. We must not give any energy to this mental picture of ourselves. We have to believe that we are worthy of love and belonging.

We can find out what our true identity is through scripture. Let’s begin with 2 Corinthians 5:17, if we are in Christ we are a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 say’s “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” When we are born again, we are to no longer view ourselves the way we did before the washing away of our sins.

Our first birth we were chained to the descriptions others gave us. Whether our given identity was positive or negative they are of the past. We have been freed, an emancipation so to speak from man. It is time we respond to what Christ has done for us! We need to identify to the way God sees us. We can receive these words, and say to ourselves over and over again; I have been born again; I am not the same person I was before I was baptized and received Christ as my Savior; however what are we going to do after we receive? It is time to respond!! It is time we let our true selves be seen. Seen the way God sees us! It is time we put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Let’s be bold enough to remind ourselves everyday who we are.

I am the blessing of God! I am a planned creation! I am a part of a chosen generation! I am blessed coming in! I am blessed going out! I am clothed in strength and dignity! I am equipped for every good work! I am of unfathomable love! I am accepted in the beloved! I am a speaker of life! I am a wondrous miracle! I am gifted by the Spirit! I am an ocean of goodness!
